Welcome!
My pronouns are she/her but I’m fine with gender neutral pronouns too.
As a helping professional, I have a lot of training, skills, and interests to share. I am currently an AASECT-certified sexuality counselor, a clinical sexologist (Ed.D.–Doctor of Education in Human Sexuality and DHS–Doctor of Human Sexuality), an adult sexuality educator, a certified hypnotist (CH) and a certifed hypnosis trainer (CI). I am an experienced online educator and workshop leader. I am the founder of the Intimate Hypnosis Training Center and the new Glenhaven Center for Sex, Gender, and Culture.
Now located in Lake County, CA, I have worked in the San Francisco Bay Area from 2008-2015 and in Pahoa, Hawai’i from 2016-2017.
I am a “Kink Aware Professional” listed through the National Coalition of Sexual Freedom.
I taught many classes online at Creative Sexuality Education Corp and developed and taught two classes through Sex Coach U.
I am also a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist™ (2016) and Dona-trained postpartum doula. I am not practicing as a CBS or doula right now but I do plan a series of hypnosis courses for expectant and new moms. Check this website soon for more information.
My classes and workshops are always LGBTQIA+, kink, and polyam friendly. Cultural, ethnic, gendered, and embodied diversity is also welcome. All on-site classes are fragrance free.
The “Office Wall”

I studied at the now-defunct Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality (IASHS). My IASHS degrees were obtained in 2008 (D.H.S.) and 2011 (Ed.D.) and were accepted by AASECT as meeting the necessary educational requirements for certification as a sexuality counselor. (I completed other requirements, including supervision as well.) My D.H.S. project may be read here. My EdD project consisted of an extensive literature search into the uses of hypnosis for sexual problems and the creation of the 150-hour Sexological Hypnotism course (now revised and called Hypnosis for Sexual Concerns). I taught that first course at IASHS for three years.

Publications
I have published two articles in the Electronic Journal of Human Sexuality: “Le’ale’a o na Poe Kahiko: Joy of the People of Old” (2011) and “Love Among the Objectum Sexuals” (2010). I contributed three entries to The Cultural Encyclopedia of the Penis (ed. Kimmel, Milrod, & Kennedy), and an essay to Transitions of the Heart – Stories of Love, Struggle and Acceptance by Mothers of Transgender and Gender Variant Children (ed. Rachel Pepper). Some of my weekly “Love’s Outer Limits” columns for Carnal Nation (2009-2010) have been collected in her book, Sex Squicks.

Media
I was most recently interviewed by Denham Hitchcock, of Australia’s Channel 7 Sunday Night show. The segment was about Objectum Sexuality. The show aired May 18, 2019. I have also appeared on Good Morning America, Tyra Banks, and twice on National Geographic Taboo, as well as several podcasts, radio shows, and local television. You can see more on this page.

Personal Works in Progress
On a personal note, I have completed my first fantasy novel, The Dire Deeds of the Guild of Ornamental Hermits, a tale of mid-life magic and adventure, and am currently seeking literary representation. As you might expect from a sexologist, the book includes characters who are intersex, transgender, gender queer/fluid, gender plural, gay, asexual, bisexual, lesbian, heterosexual, non-monogamous, kinky, and so on. The novel is set in the Puna district of Hawai’i Island.
As of November 1st, 2018, I am now at work on the second book in the series, The Witching Work of the Guild of Ornamental Hermits. This book is set in Lake County, CA and introduces the character of Lucky LaFey.

Hi Amy Marsh,
can i reproduce in part or full, the info contained in The Intimate Aspie (prt1 &2)?
A local ‘Recovery College’ mental health group, who run a course called ‘understanding autism’ has ask me and the AS group i frequent for input on the experience of being on the spectrum. The Intimate Aspie contains good strategy advice that gives an insights for AS and P/NT alike, I think it would be good to present this info to the ‘Recovery College’.
Vinnie.

HI Vincent, sorry to have gotten back to you so late. I thank you for wanting to use the info, but I feel it is somewhat outdated. I am not sure it is still useful at this point.
