Simply put: there’s nothing like a heavy duty dose of cancer to make one obsess about health and wellness! Yet when I put my sexuality counseling and hypnosis practice on hold earlier this year, in order to cope with my sudden existential crisis and endure the rigors of chemotherapy and surgery, I did not anticipate including hypnosis for general health and wellness issues in a new business plan. I wasn’t even sure I’d make it to a state of remission, so…there’s that, too.
It’s not that I haven’t been interested in hypnosis for health all along! In fact, a few years ago I designed a Hypnosis for Community Wellness course and offered it for a couple of years through my Intimate Hypnosis Training Center site. (The course needs a major overhaul, but I’d like to offer it again.)

But somehow I didn’t see my private practice expanding to include a range of health concerns. I guess I figured a lot of other hypnotists had this covered!
But because I have needed support myself in these last several months, I see a real opportunity to offer my skills AND new insights to clients in need of complementary encouragement and boosts to attitudinal healing.
Hypnosis is not a cure-all–far from it–and hypnotists do not practice medicine. But we can provide positive assistance that complements medical and mental health regimens. And there is plenty of scientific evidence as to its efficacy for a number of situations and conditions. The lower portion of this page lists quite a few studies for a variety of conditions. I invite you to check it out!
And if you want to make an appointment, email dr.amymarshsexologist@gmail.com!
Sure glad to hear you’re in a state of remission! And even able to resume your hypnosis practice. I sure hope you stay in remission a long time.
