Today, March 31, 2022, is yet another annual Transgender Day of Visibility. And it’s a good day for a U.S. presidential proclamation on the topic, pledging fuller protection for the rights of transgender (and other gender diverse people). It’s an important statement in a political climate when so many others are doing their best to make trans and gender diverse people not only “invisible” but relegated to second-class citizen categories. Let’s hope the proclamation is backed up by strong political action and policies.
